Days and weeks after Sunday’s celebration,
But the flowers have left the sanctuary,
The musical fanfare has ended
The gathered body has dispersed,
The feast has become left-overs,
Easter clothes are in the wash;
Yet, Easter continues.
As a memory?
A mental exercise?
Or is Easter in and around us still?
Isn’t Easter in the flowers springing up outside,
And in the music of faith that fills our souls?
Isn’t Easter in communities: church, family, and friends,
And the meals that we bless with a word of grace?
And, while it may or may not be reflected in our clothing,
Isn’t Easter in the spirit that we wear throughout the day?
Easter continues (yes, it does)
Days and weeks after Sunday’s celebration
Look around, look within,
Do you see it?
