A prayer after reading John 3:8
Eternal God, we seek you in nature, in words, and through our senses. We grapple with big questions as we try to understand you and the human condition. God, each question leads to another question, to an itch or to a musing; because, you and your ways are not quite knowable, and thus they are unknown. Still, in the search, we catch a glimpse, O God, and sometimes we hear the sweet music of your spirit wind that resonates through our lived experiences. We give you thanks for such moments, when knowing no longer seems to be the goal, and yet somehow we know just through being. So, give us ears to hear your music, and please help us to be still and know. Amen.
“Be still and know that I am God.” ~Psalm 46:10, NRSV
