The doors were locked; disciples dwelt in fear
But Jesus came in flesh and offered peace
They all believed ‘cept Thomas wasn’t near
Alone, his pain and doubt not yet released
Apostles urged their brother to believe
But Thomas longed to touch His hands to see
One week and then a miracle, received
When Jesus showed him what had come to be
“Reach out and put your hand here on my side
And see my nail-pierced hands, and do believe”
“My Lord, my God,” dear Thomas then replied
His faith restored, and so his doubts relieved
May we, like Thomas, shout in one accord
With deep conviction, shout, “My God! My Lord!”
